Language Basics
The Korean language uses an easy-to-learn alphabet -
han-gul (meaning "one-script") - dating from the fourteenth century,
which was originally designed to depict the actual articulation of the
sounds made by the speaker's mouth in pronunciation. han-gul originally
consisted of 28 symbols, although 4 are no longer used. han-gul has 10
vowels and 14 consonants.
