Associate - Criminal Justice Degree
The Criminal Justice Associate Degree program provides a broad understanding of the criminal justice system and introduces the student to law enforcement, courts and corrections, as well as private security management. The program includes the study of the United States court systems, correctional organizations, and law enforcement agencies. Students study the nature and extent of crime and delinquency, and the cause and explanation of criminal behavior.
Chemical, Biological, Radiological Incident Handbook This handbook is intended to supply information to first responders for use in making a preliminary assessment of a situation when a possible chemical, biological agent or radiological material is suspected. When evaluating and taking action against a possible chemical, biological, or radiological incident, your personal safety is of primary concern.
TerrorismIn contrast to other countries, the United States has no legal definition of terrorism. There is no organized body of legislation one might call the law of terrorism, and there is no inherent crime of terrorism (terrorists are charged with other offenses).
Is terrorism just brutal, unthinking violence? No. Experts agree that there is almost always a strategy behind terrorist actions. Whether it takes the form of bombings, shootings, hijackings, or assassinations, terrorism is neither random, spontaneous, nor blind; it is a deliberate use of violence against civilians for political or religious ends.
